I couldnt help but think of Bob Sinclairs Kiss My Eyes when I heard this song. The latin flair and especially the melody is nearly identical. It could just be me of course
In the original version (included here), Debi Nova jumps between English and Spanish vocals of this percussive RnB/Hip-Hop/Pop/Latin offspring. But were here to talk about the club mixes, right
It seems anytime that a Spanish or Latin flavored song gets commissioned for remixes, Ralphi Rosario is the first one on the scene. He delivers the expected here by not straying too far from the original source material yet making it more dance floor friendly with some added instrumentation and a heavier beat. Honestly though, I preferred the original to this production, which is a rarity.
Ralphis Afro Cuban Dub is, I must say, sexier and gets my feet moving much better than the Club Mix from him. Its darker and (obviously) has less vocals in it but its much more intresting than his other mix. I would have liked to have heard what the full vocal would have sounded like behind this much more.
While not as peak hour as Rosarios mixes, the 8th Street Festival Mix definitely has a hot beat track but sounds too much like the original to go for it; likewise can be spoken of Craig Js Caliente Mix. Perhaps the label had a hand in telling the remixers how to approach the job, but while good, I would have liked to have seen less of the original in each re-production.
