The Scratch Perverts never cease to amaze. Whether their eclectic track selection or their mind-boggling turntable trickery that has jaws dropping around the world, these guys are definitely not your ordinary jocks. Tony Vegas, Prime Cuts, and Plus 1 came together with a vision to do what no one else had been doing with just a set of turntables and a stack of records.
In 2005 the Scratch Perverts have seen a slew of noteworthy live gigs, their own Essential Mix, and a release on London's Fabric imprint- putting their stamp on one of the most respected anthologies in dance music to date.
This mix starts out with some of the biggest hip-hop tunes spanning the past year or two including tunes from Masta Ace Inc, Roots Manuva, Dead Prez and many other of the genre's top dogs. Don't worry - if you aren't familiar with many of the titles already, you'll be singing them like a champ after just one listen.
Overall the CD is perfect for the summer-time road trips or even your iPod jam down to the corner market. It's rare to find an album that is equally as thought-provoking as it is entertaining but these guys have come out with an album that is nothing short of inspiring.
