Fort Knox Five - Reminted

"Holy crap, this is a funky mix!" That's about all a friend and I could say when we first listened to Fort Knox Five's Reminted, where every track was just as good as the one previous. You could read the rest of this review and that's fine, but this is one of those "Just go buy it" releases that, unless you've got some kind of bug up your hind end, this will be by far the best mix you've heard in maybe the past few years.

The Fort Knox Five are a group of four (obviously) producers that have remixed all the tracks found on this collection and then put them together for a continuous mix. This process they call "Reminted," and hence the name of the album. So not only have they chosen superior tracks but have on top of that performed superior enhancements of the already kick-ass cuts. Every track is a funky breaks keeper and a highlight, so there's no point in analyzing them all. If you've paid any attention, you'll know that any record that has Tito Puente, Thunderball, Skeewiff, Kraak & Smaak and Ursula 1000, will be top shelf. And there's more artists that maybe you've not heard of, but now have total bragging rights to have not only made the tracks included here but have garnered the Fort Knox Five blessing and their additional touch.
