My first exposure to this German dance outfit was back in about 2004 with their hooky singles "Little June" and "Moonlight Shadow," so I was excited to be tapped to review this one. If you like Cascada, you'll want to pick up the latest by Groove Coverage (Completely different producers, by the way, but they definitely have mastered the sound).
The title [cut] is an answer to/take off on punk band Bad Religion's "21st Century Digital Boy." This first single, a rocker and good track in itself (although a non-representative one stylistically for this record), has had significant success for the group at dance radio and on their Myspace page.
What follows are four Cascada-flavored tunes, a couple of upbeat songs, four ballads, and an unusual happy hardcore-mid tempo-euro-rave cut ("Indonesia"). The strongest melodies emerge from the Cascada and mid-tempo groups in "Rock" and "Let it Be" (not a Masterboy cover). Definitely not your average dance record. Make sure to check it out before purchasing. Surf up myspace.com/groovecoverage and groove-coverage.com for more info.
