Sheer genius, that's the best way I can describe this release from Holmes Ives on Shinichi. In addition to an excellent composition, Avalon Frost's almost instrumental vocals really add the perfect complement to this release. In a world where I often hear music devoid of skilled composition, it's overly refreshing to hear anything produced this well. The original mix is just fantastic; upbeat and thumping. Most of the track sounds nice and dry, without too many effects. Despite clearly being electronic, most of the track elements are very organic feeling. The Tommyboy mixes are equally great. However, unlike the original, they are full of effects and dubby vocal loops. This wetter sound contrasts with the original, and creates a more Trance-like vibe. I really can't say enough to complement this release, and I look forward to hearing it on the dancefloor.
