Considering my emotions when listening to this one, I can attribute my feelings to only one thing and that is my personal taste in Hip-Hop. Striving to be as objective as possible, I find myself jamming to gems like Asheru's "Mood Swing" (feat. Talib Kweli), Piakhan & BJ's "Queen City" and J Boogie's Dubtronic Science's "Try Me." These tunes would have anyone wearing a crick in their neck and sitting very low in their seat. A majority of the tunes get an 'A+' but there are a few delinquents thrown in the mix that seem to disrupt the atmosphere throughout the album. Every time this happens J seems to make up for lost time by dropping another soulful yet funky tune.
From a compilation standpoint, the mixing is smooth and superb with J's classy and tasteful juggles and scratches thrown in at just the right time. J Boogie has managed to reflect a posh lounge vibe through his use of instrumentals and soft vocals throughout the entire mix, all the while resting on smooth / non-abrasive drums which seem to nest underneath. Despite the imperfections here, there is a lot to admire and I would suggest that any true fan of hip-hop should give this one a listen.
