Jago combines blue-eyed female vocals with trance music on this single. "Myself / I See Castles" is from Jago's full length "Anything & Everything," and Layla supplies the vocals. Stylistically, it's similar to tracks like Ian van Dahl's "Castles in the Sky." One of the hardest mixes here is the DJ Wild Bill remix- featuring a driving melodic rhythm that drops into melancholy ambience as Layla's vocals hit. As the verse progresses there's a good buildup that kicks into soaring chord stabs, and the track plows along with high energy until the end.
The Wild Bill remix packs the most punch, and all of them are heavy on the pop side of things. The final track, "Ibiza", is strikingly like the older Alice Deejay music, with its happy vibe, swirling pads and upfront synth line. This track is primarily instrumental save for the vocal line- "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Ibiza." It's a blissed-out trance romp, and my favorite track on the CD, with the Wild Bill remix coming in a close second.
