After two hit singles, Jenna Drey has found herself a new home at one
of the premier domestic dance labels, Robbins. The first song to come
from this new union is "By The Way." This song is a slice of pop
perfection. If you enjoyed "Killing Me" or "Why Should I Believe You,"
then this latest offering will keep your toes tapping.
On board for
mixing duties this time around are the duo of DJ Escape & Johnny
Vicious and the duo known as Al B. Rich. Both sets of mixers take this
song in the direction that they are best known for. Al B. Rich keep
the song light and fluffy. A tight mix that clocks in at six and a
half minutes, this song will probably be the one preferred by most
mainstream DJs. The Euro-trance beats are just what is needed with
Jenna's sweet vocal delivery. There is nothing too complicated about
this mix, so just sit back and enjoy. DJ Escape & Johnny Vicious, on
the other hand, go in a more rugged direction. Their collaboration is
definitely perfect for the later in the evening crowd. A chugging
rhythm section and pounding drums accentuate this production.
Occasionally, Jenna's voice sounds a little too soft for these harder
beats, but overall this mix is just as good in its own right. A dub is
included if you'd rather not deal with as much of the vocals. Whether
you prefer your divas on the softer side or the harder side, you will
have a perfect mix to keep you and your crowd happy. Hopefully, the
Robbins magic touch will keep Jenna's star from dimming anytime soon.
If this first single is any indication, we should be seeing her on the
charts for years to come
