Following up the classy and irresistible volume one (mixed by David Harness), Loveslap Recording enlists the talents of veteran Bay Area DJ and producer Julius Papp on this sophomore outing. From the opening strains of UC Anthem by Marlon D, where innocuous house beats are engulfed by an ultra juicy bassline and freestyle jazz saxophone, to the last note of Thank You Lord by Connie Harvey, you are caught up in Mr. Papps web and given an through working over. While the mixing itself isnt as creative or interesting as that on volume one, the programming is unsurpassed, and as a cohesive journey through the world of deep, soulful house
this is one of the best CDs I have heard in years.
