The album breaks out with a funky electro-jazz jam entitled "Lessons in Love," and continues to roll along in the same suit. Hello Stranger is thick with funky electric basslines (Feel Like I Feel, Juices), hot Latin percussion (Now and Forever), smoking guitar riffs, and enough live disco nuance to spice up the coldest of nights. Electropop trash has never sounded so good, and post-rock enthusiasts should absolutely embrace the stylings found within.
The album's production and live recording techniques are top notch; look for the first single (Boogie Boy) to be included in 2005's hottest DJ sets.
