Swedish diva Leana has been making a name for herself on the dance charts for a couple of years now. Tracks like "Dance With A Stranger" and "Faith" have kept floors moving and punters thoroughly pleased. The next step in her progression is to release a full CD and she has obliged by delivering "Feel Me." This 10-track collection features all of Leana's most recent hits, including two mixes of her current smash "Pack Your Bags" - one by Ralphi Rosario, and one by Chris Cox. None of these are the full-length mixes, however, which I found rather disappointing. If you have made a name for yourself on the dancefloor, then you should give us the whole mix that made us like you, not the chopped-down edits.
Highlights included here are "Embrace Me,' mixed by Dave Aude, and her remake of the Cutting Crew classic "I Just Died In Your Arms," which is featured twice with mixes by Solar City vs. DJ Rico as well as Stonebridge. Two new songs make their debut. "If I Could Change The World" is slated to be the next single and is a sparse techno-tinged number in its original form. The title track is the other new song and it already sounds like a peak-hour smash from the edit offered here. "Faith", "Faith In Myself," and "I Remember" round out the track listing.
For those who have never heard Leana, this CD is a good primer. It's unmixed and has many of the songs that have been hits for her on the club scene. It's a nice package for the casual listener and seals up her spot as one of the hottest new dance divas on the move today.
