Lucas Prata - And She Said

Ultra

After his breakthrough smash "Never Be Alone," Lucas Prata is following up with an even bigger hit. I have to say that this song has quickly become a favorite of mine. The Valentin mixes are key to the success of this song with the prominent synthesizers, pulsing bassline, and the perfectly timed builds and breaks. Jack D. Elliot's mixes are a bit of a disappointment here. Usually I like his mixes but these are pretty bland. There's not a lot of energy to them and they seem to do nothing to compliment Lucas' rich vocals. Mr. Mig offers a nice spin on this song with his Prata Sexy Disco Mix which sounds like a cross between Kylie's "Love At First Sight" and Stardust's' "Music Sounds Better." It's a nice alternative mix to play if you get sick of the Valentin mixes. The Reggaeton mixes (offered in both English and Spanish) by DJ Cubanito & Don Candiani are a surprising move by Ultra. Very seldom do you see a Dance song remixed into a mid-tempo song. Usually, if the song is geared towards a different genre, it's turned into a ballad. The Reggaeton mixes aren't bad.

While the tempo is slowed down, it doesn't really hurt the vocals at all. I was really surprised to heard the female vocals/rap by Adassa in the mix as most dance artists usually stay very far away from the whole Hip-Hop genre but it works quite well in this mix. Kudos to Lucas and Ultra for swaying from the usual path with the selection of remixes for this project!
