Step right into the mix with the first beats of this CD, tailor-made for DJs and aficionados of the dancefloor. Give tops props to have versions of Dance music that are here for the masses to come by, as has always been the allure of the DJ and rare club mix. It is the version you used to hear on the radio, that the record shop sold out of before you got there to cop one.
It is with that kind of image re-conjured that I get here, so act like you know and appreciate, as this is billed as and should be accepted by we, the Selectors who have made them (sounds like a Godfather reference) who they are! And therefore, this is really the Made labels tribute to itself; a culmination of a breakout first year on the scene (I love shameless self promotion - especially if you are proficient at what you do!).
I have run this by a couple of them, and my fellow punters agree that this is a very cool! effort from a friendly, new label. Made Gold - part one [REC021LP] is a label self-collaboration as they feel themselves, having made their impact in the clubbs. I very much agree, even though honestly, Id never heard of them; in any event, let us analyze the celebration.
The music is not very hard to tell: you already know iio there are three versions of Is it Love? I just reviewed Nymph in my last write-up, and we have here four remixes: two for my Sureshot cut, Afraid, and two more for my World Premiere, Exit. Track nine, the second version, is my wicked favorite on this whole album!
At the end of the meeting, all of these versions combined, are a plus ten; some better than others for interlude breaks, or radio DJ talk-over, production beds and the like. As Madonna says into the groove, but you can dance..., the positioning and choice of the cuts is sweet, but some of these give me nothing compelling to not make me reach deep and past it into my crates for the ultimo-trifecta mix, so I rate this a matinee idol four stars as remixed versions go, and as we round the bend into these to being some of the popular staples of this upcoming summer, 007.
