Following in the footsteps of their 2002 DVD “Speedtribe”, Dance.com is back again with another stunning DVD & CD, called “Male or Female.” Continuing their genre-challenging attitude, they have enlisted some of the most innovative talent from the world of video production, audio engineering and electronic music production for this project. The result is an absolutely astonishing amalgamation of 5.1 surround sound and spectacular visuals that harnesses the true potential of DVD.
Male or Female is the brainchild of legendary electronic music producers Daniel Bressanuti and Patrick Codenys of European pioneers Front 242 and musician/ vocalist Elko Blijweert. Following several CD only releases in 2002, they teamed up with innovative label Dance.com to add cutting edge visuals and audio engineering to this project.
With more than 2.5 hours of videos, Male or Female encompasses a fantasy world, explored by solitary character, Pixelman. The DVD can be set up to play as a continuous loop (helpful for using as wall paper at club or party), each track individually or used in an immersive manner. In the interactive mode, you control the character as he walks through the cityscape, stumbling upon embedded videos and hidden content. With a ton of random menus, angels and concealed audio/visual content, no two experiences with this DVD will be the same. The package also contains an audio CD (mixed in 5.1 surround sound) and access to a website to download additional information, hints and maps for better transversing the many provided environments.
