Frenchman Martin Solveig is no stranger to the house scene. Getting an early start at the tender age of 18, he landed a residency at the elite Parisian night club Le Palace and cemented his way into the most prestigious French circles. One of the shining stars on this defining house music label (Defected), it was a matter of time and maybe too long of a wait for Solveig to be featured on this In the House mix series.
Disc one is the more uptempo of the discs, including tracks from fellow Parisian Bob Sinclar 'For You,' Solveig's own funky vocal track 'Jealousy,' and yet another track by countrymen DJ Gregory 'Traffic.' Martin's choice cuts resonate alongside his native roots.
Taking it way back with Disc two, Martin busts out the classics. The standout disc of the two, Mr. Solveig hips you with the likes of Lee Fields 'I Got a Woman,' Apache 'Incredible Bongo Band,' George Clinton 'Atomic Dog,' and the timeless 'The Breaks' by Kurtis Blow. An assorted blend of Martin's prized favorites make this volume of Defected in the House one of 2006's most animated mixes.
