I heard this track on one of Junior Vasquez's shows a few weeks back and it really didn't make much of an impression. And even after going through the mixes one by one when I recieved the promo, I wasn't exactly elated. On a whim the other day I popped the CD back in the player and listened one last time. This is the kind of track that grows on you; that catches you at just that right time and you sink into its groove. There are no bells and whistles - no builds or drumrolls that last twenty minutes - no epic crashes or anything like that. That's the beauty of THINK ABOUT THE MUSIC.... the simplicity. THINK ABOUT THE MUSIC indeed.
Five mixes are included along with an acapella here and few disappoint. DJ Moody's original is where the magic is though. A GREAT production here! A simple kick, bass, and drum loop create a fantastic groove from start to finish. Along with the original mix is a pumping instrumental too. Havana Funk's Mix, in contrast, is much more on the Latin vibe with layered sax and percussion stabs. Anthony Acid (who seems to just be going by Acid now) delivers a fierce, "stipped down" mix for the afterhours crowd. Don't let this one just stay stuck in the car though. It has to be heard LOUD to be appreciated.
On a side note, Sneakymood Records included not one but two promo cds in the pack I was sent. I wish more labels would get in the habit of this, since lots of DJ's utilize two copies enhance the listening experience.
This is an awesome collection of music here... don't miss out!
