Richard Morel drops his sophomore artist album, "Lucky Strike" on Deep Dish's Yoshitoshi label. Continuing to defy classification, Morel produces a hybrid release with rock vocals and danceable beats scattered throughout. From dance floor oriented tracks like "If You Love Me" and "I Do What I Can To Not Touch You," mellow entries "Algebra" and "Tennessee Violet" and melancholy rocker "Cheerful," Morel shows his versatility as an artist and producer. And while this isn't nearly as cohesive an effort as his debut "Queen of the Highway," it is still an interesting and compelling disc that will find favor with electronic and alternative fans alike.
