What started out as a mash up bootleg has now become legalized party anthem. This mash up takes the beat of Leftfield's "Phat Planet" and put the vocals of the TV Theme from "Baywatch." Put them together and now you have "Phat Beach." The vocals behind the Baywatch theme is none other then Jim Jamieson from 80s band Survivor. Naughty Boy does an excellent job of keeping this uplifting vocal pretty much intact in its entirety. The CD Single comes equipped with the Album Version, Radio Edit. But the biggest mix making all the noise is the upstart Uniting Nations, giving this the club feel it needs to be successful. That's the good news. The bad news is there already is another version of "I'll Be Ready" out there by Sunblock. They have other mixes that include the Radio Edit, Extended Mix, Black Legend vs. J-Reverse Remix and Steve Mac Remix. All due respect, all of these mixes are just fine but the main difference between these two is the fact that Phat Beach uses the original vocal from Baywatch and Sunblock is doing a cover.

Ministry of SoundThis is the main reason why I personally believe Phat Beach is the better mix but when it comes down to money, record labels and radio stations may choose to go with the cover. It's somewhat complicated, sometimes I don't even understand it. But truth be told, if you're a firm believer in this track and what the best mix and version available. My advise is grab the Naughty Boy CD Single for the Uniting Nations Remix. It's all you need to get the job done.
