Male singers in the dance world are few and far between, so it's a nice change of pace to see a single released from a man who is not ashamed to embrace the club community or his own sexuality. Noa Tylo is a South African-born singer out of New York who is making his first chart appearance with the track "Let's Do It" from his sophomore CD of the same name. A bevy of remixers have added their own touch to this track, including Solar City and Mark Anthony. The overall results are mostly dark, dirty, and nasty beats and those are the perfect match for this song.
Miguel Picasso is first up to bat with his mix. It's nothing we haven't heard before, but that doesn't mean it isn't good. The combination of drums and keys are satisfying enough and the provocative nature of the lyrics go perfectly with the beats that Picasso lays down. Omer Barzilay is up next with his Summer Love Mix. This mix has a high energy/techno feel about it. It's obviously faster than your typical house mix and the synths give the song a rougher edge. It's also the shortest mix offered here, clocking in at just over five and a half minutes. Mark Anthony gives us two mixes to choose from. The Dark mix is exactly as the title says: a dark sleazier mix with lots of tribal rhythms and pulsing keyboards. It's a perfect choice for those weekend after hours parties.
The Solar City Club Anthem transforms this song into an upbeat hands-in-the-air song, but somehow this style doesn't fit. The lyrics are about being sexual and turned on and ready to do it and this mix strips away the naughtiness. It's not a bad mix, but it feels like the PG-13 edit of an R-rated movie. You'll still be able to dance to it, but you'll be wondering what another mix could really do for it. Rafe Nunes brings us the final mix here, his Deep N' Dirty Mix. Once again, we are treated to a dark tribal journey with lots of pounding drums and punched-up keyboards. The heavy breathing that mingles in between the verses is a nice touch. It's another good mix that uses the sexuality of the song to its advantage. You can almost see the sweaty bodies grinding with each other on the dance floor.
Noa Tylo's single "Let's Do It" is truly bringing sexy back to the clubs. With a sleazy and sensual vocal delivery along with some great dark and dirty club mixes, this gentleman will be getting a lot of airplay late at night. It's a great debut single from the CD of the same name. We'll have to wait and see if Noa can keep it up for the next round on the dance floor, that is!
