"Faster Kill Pussycat" is the lead single from Paul Oakenfold's upcoming album, A Lively Mind. If the album version is an indication of Oakenfold's musical direction, he's into the techno rock sound. This single generally sounds similar to Deep Dish's "Flashdance." In fact the guitar riff that dominates the track is nearly identical. Brittany Murphy does the vocal honors; she may be familiar to you via her movie career (Clueless, Freeway, Sin City, 8 Mile) or perhaps as the voice of Luanne Platter on the TV series King of the Hill. Here, Murphy strikes a seductive vocal pose not unlike Alison Goldfrapp, and works well in the track. The Club Mix naturally pumps up the original version with a bigger beat, amplified guitar riff, and Benassi-styled synths. Nat Monday (Flammable Records) switches things up with a trance mix, with the requisite buildups, breakdowns and shimmering arpeggios. Israeli-born Liam Shachar puts in a bouncy house remix with a dreamy feels and evolving synth work similar to Offer Nissim's style.
