Rub n Tug - Fabric 30

Fabric Records

Pumping disco beats and roaring house into your feet, Eric D and Thomas, affectionately known as Rub N Tug, have been at the heart of the underground New York scene for an extensive period of time. Infamous all night loft parties with 400 New Yorkers getting nasty to a concoction of disco, house, and everything else under the sun catapulted their names into the New York and global club scenes. Invited to mix the next installment of the Fabric series, Eric and Thom's parade establishes that they can go round for round with the previous heavyweights of Fabric.

2005's standout track (by Norwegian duo Röyksopp) 'What Else Is There?' sets the mood with the floating vocals of Karin Dreijer of the Swedish pop act The Knife. With a sudden flip of a record through the box comes an unexpected change - the classic Chicago house track 'Let's Get Busy' by the legend Marshall Jefferson (On The House) and vocals by Curtis McClain. It's just a taste of how musically diverse Eric and Thomas can get. Stunning keys and guitars come together to form the percussive track of Rufus 'No Exit.'

"We just got into our record boxes and pulled out what we were playing at the moment, our favorite tunes from the current, what we're into now. So basically it's like a slice of a night a Fabric in a way." – Eric, Rub N Tug. Eric's statement holds much truth. The set flows ever so seamlessly; from Italo disco to sing-along vocals, tech-y tracks, mashed with old school Chicago house, minimal cuts with irresistibly chugging basslines all coming together to form a perfectly blended soundscape.
