Superstar DJ Sasha will return to Global Underground in September for the highly-awaited follow-up to his inaugural masterpiece Involver.
One of the most contemplated follow-ups in dance music history, Sasha has managed to work through the hype of the internet message boards and phony tracklistings to bring you Invol2ver. Working with Barry Jamieson and the Spooky duo of Charles May and Duncan Forbes, plus Leo Leite, Sasha has also created 3 original songs for the release. 4 years, 2 months, and 4 days devout fans have eagerly waited for the follow up release to what has been catapulted into the stratosphere of legendary music.
With a massive launch party at the Ministry of Sound in London on August 30th and the global release on September 9th, dubbed Invol2ver, Sasha's follow-up is all the buzz in the dance music world.
Invol2ver 2 highlights 13 heavily-edited tracks that allows Sasha to frame a scene much like a director. Full of nuances like the dirty equipment used to create the gritty sound, Sasha's creative brilliance scouts the varied likes of Thom Yorke with "Eraser" - after playing a bootleg remix, Sasha was able to finally do a proper remix for the musical giant. Worthy of mention is Apparat's "Arcadia," a captivating melody, with fusions of airy vocals hinted throughout the track; Apparat is a brilliant producer taking notes that are Radiohead-ish in quality.
At this point Sasha reveals his darker side with the acid-influenced track from Home Video "That You Might." Blending effortlessly with Ladytron's "Destroy Everything You Touch," an ecstatic tune. Sasha takes the synthpop, robotic track and turns it into a club bomb for the standard edition. Limited edition copies will include a second CD of Sasha exclusive remixes.
Methodically created to blend a mix of artists and ideas, Sasha and his team of studio experts push the limits of their creativity. Unlike its archetype, Invol2ver is a much purer electronic album. The mix is more leading, at times minimally and melodically uplifting. Invol2ver is the legacy of a world class DJ.
Released September 9, 2008 on Global Underground.
