Drama Queen is cut from the mold of many of the great up-front
progressive house tunes that weve become familiar with from Steve
Porter. The tune's got a very nice straightforward flow with an
assortment of great trills and melodies going off in the background.
Drama Queen pulls together an equal amount of depth and energy making it perfect for those late night gigs with a packed dance floor.
A. Drama Queen (Original Mix)
This mix is just as described above with the straightforward flow and lots of action. Clear production and satisfying arrangement allow this one to easily mesh amongst whatever you put at each end. Weve got somewhat of a minimal vibe going on here but dont underestimate the power of this tune as we all know that sometimes a little bit goes a long way.AA. Drama Queen (Tony Thomas Mix)
Tony Thomas does up a filtered version throwing in a little bit more personality. Theres a vocal snippet in the background here that really sets this one throwing just a bit of jack to the house heads. Theres some nice dropouts her allowing for some cool trickery with filtered synth lines.AA2. Drama Queen (Troia & Gow Remix)
Troia & Gow break out the beats putting some oomph behind their rendition. This side has to be my favorite as theyve taken the best elements of the previous tracks and put them into a mix that grabs just a little more attention. Deep basslines here and nice filtering on top set the stage for seven minutes of impact. Midway were introduced to a tasty piano loop that really caps this one off nicely and takes us through to the mix.Overall the 3 tunes each have something special. Whether youre going for minimal or something a bit more In Your Face theres something on this record for you.
