With all of the existing compositions of Barbers "Adagio for Strings," Tiesto really needs to bring something amazing and original for this to
stand out. Unfortunately, Tiestos version is neither. It is reminiscent of several of the other middle-ground versions of this song. The only thing
that helps it stand out is the quality of the sound, which would be decent if the overdriven parts didnt sound so muddy. If it werent for William
Orbits fantastic rendition or Skip Raider and Jadas amazing vocal accompaniment, Tiesto might have stood a decent chance. Tiesto clearly has
the capability to produce some of the worlds best EDM tracks, it seems like this is just one of the few that didnt quite make it.
The Danjo & Styles remix doesnt even seem to include the overdriven sound that made Tiestos remotely stand out, which only further seems to make it lost amidst the other "Adagio for Strings."
The Phynn Remix seems to be this singles saving grace. It is quite distinct and doesnt follow the same format as previous "Adagio for Strings" remixes. The structure is interesting and fulfilling. Id have to clearly say that this is worthy of joining the crowning ranks of Barbers "Adagio for Strings" remixes alongside William Orbit and Skip Raiders. Thank you Phynn for this refreshing mix that will rock dancefloors around the world!
The Fred Baker Remix joins Tiesto and Danjo & Styles in the middle of the pack. This mix starts out in your face, promising to deliver a powerful punch. Unfortunately, that goes on for 3 minutes only to under deliver. Then, out of nowhere, in comes Tiestos overdriven synthlines. If overdriven, over compressed sythlines is your thing, this is your track.
If youre wondering about buying this, do it. The Phynn Remix alone is easily worth the asking price to any Trance addict.
