This is the 5th in the Sunrise series for Dutch DJ/Artist Tiesto. The 2-disc set of trance is DJ-mixed and includes exclusive tracks from Way Out West, Jes, and Karen Overton, and remixes from Luke Chable, Steve Forte, and Guy Ehmetores.
The occasional short track breaks up the longer mixes you'd expect to hear. Disc I is melodic and progressive trance with about half the tracks being instrumentals. Fonzerelli-"Moonlight Party" is a strong female-fronted cut- a happy electronica/trance song with a quirky synth. Some of the other appealing tracks on I are Jes' "People Will Go" remix, with a groovy bassline and dark feel, and the AM-"Arise" remix and Cass-"Little Bird" with their shadowy feel and good melody. Disk II is less substantial, being mostly a collection of instrumentals with the remix of Jaytech's "Genesis" as the standout track.
Too many tracks here seem weak and lifeless-- odd for a DJ of Tiesto's caliber. Although a disappointing collection for someone expecting a collection of Tiesto remixes, this disc would make for some nice mood music or background buzz at parties, etc.
