The gorgeous and glamorous Tina Cousins returns with this darkly evocative cover of Black's breakout late 80's hit, "Wonderful Life." The splendid Dance Version is really a radio edit and unfortunately is not offered in an extended version, for it is the best of the dancefloor ready versions of the song with a grinding yet glittering Electro production that beautifully parallels the inspirationally melancholy nature of the lyric. The Low Frequency Occupation mixes offer a slightly more disco-fied arrangement with a skipping beat and a piano-led track that give the song more of a House vibe but still wisely keep the focus on Tina's openly soaring vocal delivery. On the Methods Of Flow Club Mix, "Wonderful Life" is given more of a funky House treatment with a jittery beat, twanging guitar bits, and vocal stutters and as a contrast, a Ballad Version is featured as well, which perhaps provides the best showcase for Tina's emotive vocal with its sparsely stunning piano and strings arrangement. A welcome return, Wonderful Life" will please fans of Ms. Cousins's previous "Killing Time" album and will provide a solid lead for new fans into Ms. Cousins's upcoming sophomore full-length release "Mastermind."
