Kosmo Records head honcho Tom Novy brings us his latest mixed CD
entitled 'DJ Sessions' after a long-awaited 5 years. Out on his label
with releases like 'Loneliness' by Tomcraft, 'Superstar' by Novy vs
Eniac, and the Ibiza anthem 'Your Body' by Novy himself, the
compilation features some of the best music from around the world.
'DJ Sessions' is a double disc featuring a hodgepodge of tracks. Disc
1 highlights a more progressive sound with peak-time tracks, where as
Disc 2 is much more House-oriented with tribal, minimal, and electro
elements. Standout tracks on Disc 1, by Defected genius Sandy Rivera,
are Kings of Tomorrow 'Thru' remixed by Paul Raw, and the warehouse
vibes of Muzzaik 'S.O.S' in the S-Man's revision; only the music can
save your soul on this track.
And one of 2005's biggest anthems, Tom Novy featuring Michael Marshall
'Your Body' with remix duties by Paul Harris, undeniably one of the
biggest tracks in the past few years, drips of sweat and sexiness.
Disc 2 features an older yet much healthier track list. Standouts on
this disc include the tribal sounds of BPT featuring DM Binxter
'Moody' remixed by Saeed Younan. Another 2005 anthem featured is
Rachael Starr's 'Till There Was You' John Creamer & Stephane K's club
mix, which didn't seem to fit very well in this mix. Kings of
Tomorrow is featured again with '6pm' Sandy's Blackwiz remix. The
disc rounds out with electro sensation Williams 'Picadilly Circuits'
and the very somber 'Pictures' by Timo Maas. The overall progression
of disc 1 is much stronger, but the track selection on disc 2 appeals
more to the House side. Novy has a done a great job featuring a
multitude of tracks, but fell off in certain parts with programming.
