Trance Divas 2

Water Music

Dance label Water Music continues its Trance Divas series with Volume 2. If you prefer vocals in your trance, you'll be pleased as most of the cuts are vocal heavy. But be prepared for long mixes, with almost half over 7 minutes.

As a vocal trance and Water Music releases fan, I counted a good 14 tracks that would satisfy most trance lovers. Standouts are Kyau vs. Albert's "Not With You" radio edit, as well as Sun Decade's "I'm Alone (Mirco de Govia vocal mix)," both good examples of genius high energy trance music! I also enjoyed Galimar's "Sunshine on a Rainy Day (radio mix)" with its intermittent arpeggiated vocals and get-to-the-point-in-under-four-minutes punch.

Albeit Fragma vocalist Damae's solo debut, "I've Been Thinking About You" is a good track but nothing special. ATB's contribution, "Marrakech" (Alex M.O.R.P.H. Synthetic Empire Mix), delivers the goods as a dark, pounding song worthy of immediate club play. And in case you're wondering, DJ Tatana's "Always On My Mind" is not the Willie Nelson hit. In my opinion, "Time After Time" has been done to death, but Novaspace doesn't allow the vocals to constitute much of their version, which is a substantial, dark, enjoyable track nonetheless. If you're a fan of vocal trance, grab this specially priced 2-CD set and crank it up!
