Being around dance music for so long, you start to form opinions about remixes before you hear them. You write off the remixers who you didn’t like in the past, and many times pass up their productions and such with something that you KNOW you’ll like. That’s what happened with this track. Both Scumfrog and Richard Vission (what happened to the “Humpty”) have in my opinion been continually off and on with their productions. So seeing as these were the two remixers on this project, I passed. Boy was I wrong.
When I first popped this in and that deep rolling bassline kicked in, I thought I was listening to the Scumfrog mix. It sounded a little reminiscent of his Kristine W mix of FLY AGAIN. Much to my surprise it was actually Richard Vission’s mix. “The Richard Vission Experience” to be exact! Great sound here! A wonderful guitar loop behind that fierce bass and hot beat – I was pleasantly surprised. The actual Scumfrog mix, while not as good, is an okay effort on their part, and a welcome addition to the single.
Never judge a book by it’s cover right? Definitely right. Give this one a try, even if you’re hesitant. You might be surprised..
