If you haven’t heard, Way Out West has a new album coming out. Well, it just so happens that I have a copy of it in my deck as we speak. The album is called Don’t Look Now and features the full crew: Nick Warren, Jody Wisternoff, and vocalist Omi. The trio has something new to offer the fans this time around, so let me begin this review and I will explain.

Nick and Jody have been the masters of the dancefloor for quite some time with their previous releases focusing mainly on the standard EDM structure of production - But it appears the evolution of the W.O.W. sound is now taking shape. Building on Omi’s solid vocal presence, Way Out West has been able to begin experimenting with songwriting techniques and are applying them to their maturing selection of audio formats. Although I really can’t compare this album to any other current release, it is somewhat reminiscent of Dido’s previous album - yet has enough of its own Nick Warren-fueled style of epic and breaky/trancy EDM goodness to go around.

I think overall it’s a solid album for the fans and the floors, and I have no doubt that the coming onslaught of remixes and videos will eventually push this “still somewhat underground” trio straight into the pop-mainstream spotlight.
