Young Love has already made a big splash on dance floors earlier this year thanks to the hot mixes of the debut single "Discotech." Now comes the second single, "Find A New Way," with remixes provided by Dave Aude & Morel. Each one offers a distinctive and original reconstruction, with one version being more upbeat than the other. Between these two songs and these remixes, one can see why Billboard magazine called Young Love one of their Best Bets for 2007.
Dave Aude kicks off things with his Club Remix. This is an upbeat electro-tinged stomper that will keep your floor moving. The funky bassline and pulsing synths are a key element to many of Aude's mixes and they are utilized very effectively here as well. Young Love's vocals sound a lot like Fall Out Boy or Good Charlotte, so all the rocker boys and girls will enjoy dancing to this. Around the 5:45 mark, the song drops out completely to just some tinkling of the keys and then rebuilds into the original groove. It's not a mix that breaks any new ground, but it is a fantastic retooling of the track. A dub, mixshow, and radio edit are all provided as well- depending on your mood. Morel is the other remixer showcased here, with his now signature-titled Pink Noise Vocal Mix. Morel gives this mix a tougher feel, adding drums and a piano, but somehow with those extra elements, this mix actually feels more laid-back. It has a chill vibe to it, never building up to any sort of frenetic pace. This mix also drops out around the 5:15 mark, showcasing the vocals and the piano. This version is very nice and laid-back, a perfect choice for early evening play or Sunday afternoon tea dances. A radio edit and dub are also available for your choosing.
Young Love gives us another great single with "Find A New Way." The mixers take us in two very different directions, depending on your mood. Dave Aude will get you dancing while Morel will at least get you swaying.
