Title - Artist - Label (Country)
Fabric 38 Various (mixed by MANDY) Fabric (UK)
As owners of the hip Berlin house label Get Physical, M.A.N.D.Y have been at the forefront of the minimal movement from the beginning. While the vibe in the early part of this mix is a bit down and melancholy for my taste, it certainly picks up later with bombs like Dopamin by Robag Wruhme and the Wighnomy Brothers, Warpaint by Poxy Music, and the truly massive Chorizo by Toni Rios and Martin Eyere. **** (4 of 5)
Gilles Peterson in the House Various Defected (UK)
Gilles Peterson has impeccable taste and is a musical visionary of the first degree. This three disc set really allows him to spread his wings, and show the true depth of his taste. From the soulful house of Larry Heard, to the Disco Funk of Earth Wind & Fire, and the jazz virtuosity of Sonny Stitt, Gilles shows that flash mixing isnt necessary when you are a master selector. Brilliant release.

Dead Mans Hand Various (mixed by Cle) Poker Flat (DE)
Ever consistent Poker Flat is back with another quality 2 CD release. Disc one features several exclusive releases and stand out tracks Behind The Curtains by Steve Bug and Cle, and Sebo Ks Remix of Let Me Dance by Martin Landsky. Disc two is a mix set from acclaimed producer and one half of the Martini Bros., Cle. On point, as usual. **** (4 of 5)
Sci-Fi Hi-Fi: Volume 04 Various (mixed by Funk DVoid) Soma (UK)
Whether he is producing, remixing, laying down a slaying live set, or serving up a smooth mix set like this, Lars Sandberg (aka Funk DVoid) destroys the competition and leaps tall buildings like few others in the world of EDM. On this disc, he takes a more refined, deep, laid back path but as with all of his projects, he takes it to an unworldly level. ***** (5 of 5)
