Recuerdos Eternos EPDJ Preach (Primate Endangered Species-UK)
Montreal based man of the moment; DJ Preach drops science on this dazzling two track EP for Primate Endangered Species. The first cut, “Ilusione” is a complete monster of a track, with pouring percussion, murky bass and a synth line that slowly grows and rises until it all breaks down and annihilates anything in its path. One of my biggest tracks at the moment, this is an instant dancefloor slayer and a track that will find its way into the sets of many of the worlds top techno DJs. The flip features “Amnesia”, a minimal, stark techno grinder that cuts right to the chase and never lets up. A lot harder than most pervious work by Preach, this is prime time material at its finest. Best EP of the month, by a long shot. *****(5 of 5)

Remixes Volume 3Chris Liebing (CLR Evolution-Germany)
The third round of remixes from Chris Liebing’s brilliant Evolution LP, features several newcomers to the techno scene. Austrian wonder boys, Titanium (Felipe and Nicolas Bacher) add their take on “Disorder and Chaos” and come up trumps. Smooth and rough at the same time, they turn in a gripping, forward moving smoker of a track that prods along and slowly takes the listener along with it. “Dark Matter” is up next, with Flash Golden taking the reigns and adding an industrial tinged, electro inspired banger. The B Side bestows us with two more outstanding reworkings. “Fires of Hell” is tackled by Aki Ketunen, who delivers a sharp, piercing remix with brooding synths, driving percussion and a creepy, depraved tone throughout. The project concludes with Silvio Marquardt’s take on “String Theory”, one of my favorite tracks from the original project. This remix takes things in a funky, almost broken beat direction with stuttered kick drums, vocal stabs and deep, lush undertones. A fantastic way to spice up a tech house or groovy techno set, this is the stand out track here and worthy of your full and immediate consideration. Very nicely done. ****(4 of 5)

SanctumNoah Pred (Saboteur Musique-Canada)
Everywhere I look lately, I see the name Noah Pred. From glitchy micro house to groovy tech house and funky techno, he is one of the most in demand and on-the-mark producers in the world at the moment. For this project, he teams up with outstanding Montreal based Saboteur Musique, and drops an astonishing 4 track EP. The disc kicks off with “Sanctum”, a slow bubbling tech house jaunt, complete with innate, murky keys, crafty percussion and a pervasive, eerie feel throughout. “Loose Terrain” is up next, with forward moving, tribal influenced drums, atmospheric synth lines and gradual building energy. The B Side features “Fatal Exception”, a solid, funky tech house rhythm track with tough drums, vocal stabs and cyclic keyboard riffs, that is a perfect track for beginning an ascent from smooth beats, towards harder, more driving material. “Inward Bound” completes the package, with lush pads, sexy bassline, vocoded vocal stabs and funky beats that come together and make this an incredible slab of late night goodness. ****(4 of 5)
