Techno 12” Single Reviews for Dancemusic.com – September 29, 2004

Control FreakCirez D Mouseville (DE)
Impressive debut for new German imprint, Mouseville. Featuring driving percussion, dark bassline, horn stabs, vocal samples and a long, tension building breakdown, “Control Freak” is a big brash, banging slab of techno madness. “Hoodpecker” is the on the flip, and is an old school, electro flavored romp with blazing percussion and a retro bassline that grows on you over time. Excellent debut release.

FreedomLucca Acapulco (CZ)
One of the most successful female DJs in Eastern Europe, Lucca continues her fantastic string of productions with this two track EP for her new label, Acapulco. “Freedom” is a smooth, sexy percussive techno affair with lush pads, sexy keys and moving beats. The B-Side features “Mirage”, remixed by fellow countryman/ techno master, Umek. Old school synths, funky bassline and driving, Deetron-esque percussion make this an absolute dancefloor DESTROYER. Fantastic EP that is headed straight to the top of my chart.
