1. Winter Music Conference 2010
Top of the list is the conference itself - WMC. If you are involved with the dance music industry in any way, shape or form, REGISTER and attend the panels, seminars and events at the Eden Roc Beach Resort and Spa. Highlights this year include feautured Q&As with Paul Van Dyk, Pitbull and Carl Cox, a production seminar with Grammy nominated Dirty South and a radio panel with all the major dance radio heavyweights in one room. Also of note are great learning seminars on remixing and prodction, publicity, building the best DJ set, and new trends.
2. Ultra Music Festival 2010
The award-winning festival (Best Music Event - IDMA) will take place in downtown Miami on Friday, March 26 and Saturday, March 27. The line-up is insane with virtually every genre of electronic music represented by the biggest and best out there - David Guetta, Tiesto, deadmau5, Carl Cox, Swedish House Mafia, Paul Oakenfold, Crystal Method, and Will.i.Am - just to name a few.
3. Finding the Hot Song of the Conference
To find one song that unites everyone may seem old-fashioned but while roaming the streets of South Beach and going from party to party, it definitely is a worthwhile pursuit. It also makes a great conversation starter.. when you see that sexy person that you want to chat up. So far the buzz seems to be on a few records that have been playing for a while ("Hey Hey" by Dennis Ferrer, "Free" by Ultra Nate with a new remix by Bob Sinclar), the buzzworthy sample record ("2Gether" by Roger Sanchez which cheekily uses "Loveshack") and the superstar collaboration ("Corrected" with Mason, DMC, and Sam Sparro.) All bets are off though until we get down there and the CDRs and thumbdrives start flying.
4. International Dance Music Awards
