There's a lot of cooks in this kitchen, but the end effect proves to be a satisfying one. Mirroring the formula that is currently working for David Guetta (female singer, male singer, rapper) on "Gettin' Over You", Benny Benassi enlists Kelis, apl.de.ap from The Black Eyed Peas, and Jean-Baptiste. While the subject matter may be questionable (in fact, it evokes memories of "Blue" by Eiffel 65), Benassi's production is tight and melodic, and Kelis turns in a fantastic performance. Apl.de.ap and Jean-Baptiste are mostly superfluous, so it's good that Benassi and Kelis hold their own in this track so well. Remix work by Fedde Le Grand and Kris Menace really warp the track from it's original production giving you a few options for your floor. Menace puts out a laidback, lo-fi house number that's good for a late night groove while Fedde Le Grand gives it his own brand of electro twist. "Spaceship" marks the lead single of Benassi's upcoming album, a follow-up to 2008's Rock N' Rave.
