Song of the Day: David E. Sugar - "Party Killer"

From DJ Ron Slomowicz, About.com GuideJuly 31, 2010

Follow me on:

"Party Killer" by David E. Sugar sounds like a sandwich of Cake, Beastie Boys, and Crystal Castles with perhaps a dash of Chromeo-esque electro thrown in. It is laidback, funky, minimalistic Hip Pop that can suit at a frat party and hipster club alike. The video is a fun use of layering as David does various "music video" things like sings at the camera, stands profile, plays a guitar overlapping...himself doing those same things. Set to release Memory Store, his debut album on Rob Da Bank's Sunday Best Recordings, "Party Killer"does an ample job of teasing the listener into hearing more.
