"Like A G6" may sound familiar, especially if you listened to yesterday's Song of the Day. Far East Movement, produced by The Cataracs, used a small sample of Dev's "Booty Bounce" as the hook of "Like A G6". The track is very slimy and grimy, and that approach is perfect with such a seductive vocal sample by Dev. The Far East Movement provides some raps but ultimately, it is Dev's association with this track that really makes it pop. While "Booty Bounce" is a lot more frantic, "Like A G6" has an electro/hip hop swagger that is oh so mainstream and oh so hot. The video plugs the norm: Beats headphones and Cherrytree radio. But honestly, when is self promotion a bad thing? This is definitely the sleeper hit of the summer.
