It WOULD take ex-Eiffel 65 dj Gabry Ponte to introduce "Frere Jacques" to the dance floor. But he does just that with the bouncy and catchy "Sexy DJ (In Da Club)", featuring a convicted performance by happy/naughty singer/rapper Maya. Gabry hasn't been up to a whole lot since Eiffel 65 split. He released a couple of solo albums that escaped notice for the most part (although Louie DeVito found "Time To Rock" and featured it on his Dance Factory series), and he also released some updated versions of popular Eiffel 65 songs like "Blue" and "Move Your Body". "Sexy DJ" bears his stamp all over it, and strangely he makes the entire thing work (of course with the help of his featured artist). And not only does he use Frere Jacques, he throws "Itsy Bitsy Spider" in there for the fun of it. You can't help but smile.
