ATB - The DJ: In the Mix

First off, let me say that I'm a huge ATB fan... HUGE!! I've come late to the flock of DJ Andre Tannenberger, but have more than made up for this by purchasing his entire back catalog (I Bet Radikal Records loves me). I consider his summer 2003 release Addicted to Music to be a stunning trance epic, lushly orchestrated and head-spinningly listenable. Imagine my joy upon the release of his 2nd mix CD compilation In the Mix. 2 CDs of pure unadulterated joy! What more could I want from life?

ATB's fingerprints are all over this set and I couldn't be happier. Four of his own tracks pepper the two discs, including a big bonus for ATB fans of Addicted, a remix of In Love with the DJ that features all new lyrics and is a boss-ass remix to boot. Why this song is not blasting out of niteclubs nationwide, I'll never know. A handful of his own remixes are mixed in with favorites from the last several years such as Paul Van Dyk's Time of Our Lives (easily one of the best from last year and already a veteran of numerous other compilations), Blank and Jones' Summer Sun, Chicane's Daylight, and Everything But the Girl's Missing, brilliantly layered over ATB's own 9 pm (Til I Come).

I say run, don't walk to your nearest dance music retailer to add this to your party collection. You'll be the envy of all of your friends. I envy you already. This set has been burning up my CD player for weeks. You still get to experience the joy for the first time yourself
