The Star 69 release of the new double CD Oscar G - Live @ Space is nothing short of genius. Oscar G is one half of the legendary record label/production team of Murk. Along with his partner Ralph Falcon, they have produced, signed, remixed or released numerous dance music anthems. He entered the scene in 1991 with a style of underground progressive that found its way into the ears of thousands of partygoers and the record boxes of DJs like Danny Tenaglia and Junior Vasquez. Up until 2001 Oscar had only had international guest DJ spots all over the world, but no club that he called home. That is when Club Space was turned over to him on Saturday nights and he has since created one of the coolest places to be in house music. He has won numerous awards and hearts of Miami clubgoers.

This new CD is nothing less than awesome. His uncanny ability to pick tracks and stitch them together with flawless precision is exhibited on these two discs.

The first disc is loaded up with tracks by Ilay & Beat C., Donna Summer, Futuristic, Richie Santana, and the house music legend Mr.C. "Tonight," "Get Back To Music," and "Desert Rain" all share soulful vocals and funky tribal basslines. Alma Matris is found a couple of times on here, once as an artist and once as a remixer. Both are spectacular in their own way. "Rapido" by Alma Matris is Latin-infused vocals with a siren loop in it. He drops "I Feel Love" right in on "Rapido" and it was like nothing that I have ever heard before. Grace, beauty, dance. Stryke drops a Depche Mode-sampling banger in "Domino." The hand percussion elements make this song a perfect fit for Oscar G.

The second disc features over another hour of dark, deep, tribal, spirited house music. Tracks from Phil Kieran, Jurgen Drissen, Puncher and Liquid Art let know you to strap in for a serious ride on the house super-highway.

Driessens' "Help Me," Punchers' "The Wall" and Kierans' "Vital 3" are awesome tracks even without Oscar G's superior DJ talent. He melds these tracks into more than music; it is an experience. Remixers on this disc include Saeed & Palash, Subway Baby, and west coaster Chris Cowie. I loved the 80's feel included on the Franssen vs. Lowdown track "Dead Man Talking." It has an old school feel but is quite hip. Finishing out this compliation is the filthy, dirty track "Turbulence." This song has some grinding synth notes and a ultra hard bassline. He finishes with a banging track and it's a beautiful thing.

If Club Space is on your list of things to do before you die, practice up with this new CD from Oscar G.
