This new double CD set has a very nice cross-section of house music. He has put no mind into genres and plays nothing but smooth and sexy tracks. I guess thats how he earned the nickname the coolest man in house. The first CD begins with an original Lights Out promo featuring Luzon. On Alan Barrats Zulu Nation Part 6, it blends a very funky house sound with a broken, progressive bass line. This is quite the combination for any house lover. Steve presents a single by Danusha called Movin On. This track has an exquisitely soulful vocal and an energetic hook. The funkiness doesnt stop there. Paul Johnsons track Follow this Beat is nothing short of bangin. It is so fresh. It has an electro beat and sounds like someone came in the studio and blew their air horn. This track will defiantly keep your feet movin.
Upon queuing up the second CD I am whisked away to a land of darker progressive house. It begins with an awesome unreleased mix of everyones favorite Underworld - Two Months Off as an intro. On UN7 R.R.R it gives us that deeper progressive sound with a beautifully constructed break. The second CD is definitely what is to be expected from a GU release, hard, deep, and dark progressive house. Eric Kaufman vs. Jet My Girlfriend is a Robot certainly describes what it might to like if your girlfriend WAS a robot. It has a kind of creepy vocal that talks to you with some light percussion elements. This is a very interesting track, indeed. He finishes off the CD with a Eurochrome track Future Spirit. This track features an almost Billy Idol sounding vocal. It has a spaced out sound to it with a big bass track and is a for sure floor filler.
