RS: How do you describe your sound?
Chris: I would definitely describe what I produce as being both a club- and radio- friendly universal house sound, usually with full vocals which have been manipulated in parts to give the track a whole new different vibe. It’s Full Intention meets Joey Musaphia.

RS: Looking over your site, it seems like you have done just about everything. When you were doing live performances did you have any Milli Vanilli moments?
Chris: I think I have pretty much done everything from club DJing to radio work, the odd TV appearance, live sound engineering, music tuition, record producing, voiceovers and yes, even carrying other DJs records into the club! I have to say that so far everything seems to have run pretty smooth for me. I’ve been asked to produce Reggae and Death Metal (whatever that is!?) and I bet that would have led to some strange situations!

RS: What do you think the US dance scene can learn from the British dance scene?
Chris: To be totally honest with you, I don’t follow what’s happening in the UK at all. I tend to focus more on what sounds are big in the States as that’s where my work is released mainly, however, some may say I have a very ‘British Sound.' I don’t purposely try to make it like that at all. I guess that just comes natural through all the club DJing I have done over the years.

RS: You are working on an album right now. What is the concept of the project?
Chris: The album will be called This is Infect’ive and will contain the most popular Infect’ive Remixes so far, such as Georgie Porgie’s "I Love I Love," which reached #1 on the Billboard Club Chart and #1 on the Mixshow Hot 100 last year. There are some album exclusives on there written by myself which won’t come out as singles at all and some tracks which will come out under the Infect’ive name after the album is released. It is being compiled as we speak and a photo shoot is being planned for around August. The label is hoping to do some limited edition picture discs also which sounds pretty cool. My face spinning around on a record… hmm… that’s kinda hard to imagine! Really though, this is my opportunity to show off some of my own material in addition to the production work I have done for other artists out there. I think you’ll like it.

RS: How are you choosing the artists you are working with?
Chris: I’m fortunate in that some of the big artists I’ve followed for quite some time such as dance diva Pepper Mashay and the legendary Georgie Porgie are actually close friends of the label I am signed to. So naturally when I found this out I just had to try and hook up some kind of collaboration. I met Pepper in Miami 2002 and gave her my demo after Harry Towers made the introduction. I called her up and she loved what I did and asked me to remix her latest single which she wrote with The Tamperer; “I Can’t Stop." It was always my dream to visit and work in the U.S and to produce a record for one of my favourite divas, so naturally, when I got asked to do Pepper’s song I was delighted. I did another remix for Jade Starling, another diva whom I met in Miami at Todd Terry’s party, and when Georgie Porgie heard what I did to he track he went crazy, and from there I got approached to do "I Love I Love" for him. Right now, I am in the studio in California for one more week working on a remix for his new single ‘Be Happy.' I don’t purposely look for working with big names. There are some less-established but equally talented artists out there whom I have worked with and continue to do so.
