RS: So your artist album, how long did it take you to put together?
Tom Novy: The last one took two and a half years because it's quite
poppy, song-oriented, and it's not easy to write good songs. It's not
a complete simple club album, it's more to improve my situation being
a serious producer pop-wise and songwriting-wise. I'm working on a
new album which is going to be completely a complete club album with
hot club tracks that might be more unexpected. These are songs that
come from my emotions and my feelings and it's a little bit harder to
work on that kind of sound.
RS: I'm a big fan of "Your Body." Is that more of the sound of
the last album or what's coming on this next album?
Tom Novy: The next album is called Around The World, because the
concept is to meet different producers and friends as I'm touring the
world playing as a DJ and taking a day off and going to the studio
with the friend of mine. I already came from Australia, where I
finished a track with Goodwill and next I'm going to the UK and find a
couple friends and maybe go see Paul Harris or some of those guys.
When we finish, we'll probably have like twelve or fifteen tracks out
as an album.
RS: What is your song of the Conference?
Tom Novy: I'm putting out a song that's a follow up for "Your Body"
called "My House" with the same vocalist. It's going to be release
in Germany and Italy next week. I don't know how long it takes to get
it here in the States, but the world is small. As for a hot record
that I am playing, I think the Kurd Maverick track "Work It Out" is
going to be a smash.
RS: When you're making music are you using Logic, ProTools, Nueno.. ?
Tom Novy: I'm using Logic in the studio and to be honest, I'm really
into Apple right now because it's much faster and much quicker, so I
can produce a lot of edits much faster. To really go in to a real
production, I go back and produce Logic in the studio.
RS: What would you like to say to all your fans out there?
Tom Novy: Keep on rocking and on doing what you're doing. Save for
your own, believe in yourself and enjoy life.
