RS: How did you get Lucy Woodward involved with the album?
Scumfrog: Lucy and I have been friends since we both used to do very shady things to pay the rent (ok, ok, I'll speak for myself) Back in the flat-broke days I helped her out producing her demos and she helped me out singing on mine. Getting her to be involved on the album wasn't the isssue, but getting her to duet with me about perverse pleasures on "Bacon," THAT took a bottle af Patron.

RS: Since you are singing as well as producing - any chance of you singing over records while you are spinning - a la Sonique?
Scumfrog: I always do, and I always bring a percussion pad as well so I can bang away when the moment calls for it. You should come check out a show sometime.

RS: I hear that the next single "Come On" has Murk mixes coming out. How did you hook up with the Murk Boys?
Scumfrog: Oscar G and I run into each other every now and then. We decided to swap remixes so I remixed their single "Time" and they returned the favor by making "Come On" into a trademark MURK afterhours slammer.

RS: What's been the hardest remix for you so far?
Scumfrog: Probably the mix for Amiel, because I knew she was going to come into the studio herself to check it out and I really wanted to impress her (she's very cute!) I hadn't been to the gym in months so I knew it had to come from the music.

RS: Is there anyone out there that you would like to remix?
Scumfrog: Not necessarily remixing, but there are tons of artists that I would like to produce something new with. Especially after having remixed Bowie, I would like to have a studio session with him and be his "electronic" influence. I know he likes to work with new producers in the electronic field, and he can only use Moby so many times before he gets bored with ordering vegetarian studio-dinners. Bowie likes a steak, that's where I come in.

RS: Now that there is a Scumfrog album - is there any chance of a Dutch album in the future?
Scumfrog: You have psychic powers, my friend. I'm working on the new Dutch single right now, which will be released on Effin during WMC, along with a brand new epic club monster from Cevin Fisher called "Let The Sun Shine."

RS: How do you find time to produce and remix when you have such a busy DJ schedule?
Scumfrog: My manager comes up with a tight schedule every week. It's almost like the training sequence from Rocky, but without any kind of phisycal excercise.

RS: Are you a PC / Mac guy?
Scumfrog: I use Macs because it looks cool and girls love a Mac geek. But don't ask me to make a technical case as to why I prefer them over PCs. (did I just write the new MAC commercial?)

RS: Pro Tools / Logic / Cubase?
Scumfrog: Pro Tools religiously, and without any ulterior motives.

RS: Whats your favorite piece of outboard gear?
Scumfrog: My Studio Electronicss SE1 and the fridge in the hallway are the two most used.

RS: How much of your original productions do you play in your live sets?
Scumfrog: It depends on the set. "Beauty" and the club mix of "Come On" are easy dancefloor candidates, other tracks on the album need a special moment. There is always a time for everything.
