When you hear the label Bad Boy mentioned in a conversation concerning music, you probably think of hip-hop and rap and R&B artists like the Notorious B.I.G. and Faith Evans. Up-and-comers like Cassie & Danity Kane have recently helped the label make a comeback to the charts with songs like "Me & U" and "Show Stopper." Neither of these songs would be considered dancefloor stompers, but that was before this EP was released. The above-mentioned songs, along with another Cassie track, "Long Way To Go," and label owner Diddy's own song "Come To Me," have all been remade into prime time anthems thanks to the likes of mixers like Tyler Nelson, E-Smoove, and Dave Aude. The results are sometimes surprising, but a decent effort nonetheless.

A mixed bag of goodies is what you get with the Bad Boy Dance Mixes EP. Sometimes the big names do a good job (Dave Aude, Friscia & Lamboy) and sometimes not so much (Maurice Joshua). Kudos to newbie Tyler Nelson & Roc & Soul for providing the best mixes on here. Let's see if the next set of Bad Boy singles get this same remix treatment. It's nice to see a label put some effort behind promoting dance music instead of treating remixes like redheaded stepchildren. Hopefully other labels will finally decided to follow suit and give dance music the respect and promotion it deserves.
