Bob Sinclar Presents Fireball - What I Want

Tommy Boy Records

Bob Sinclar has certainly made a name for himself in the past year or so. After switching up styles from deep house to something a bit more commercial, he has scored hit after hit on the charts. He's accomplished this by capitalizing on the current reggaeton craze and adding his unique combination of club sounds and sampling some of the best known dance songs from years past. The new single continues this trend with two hot songs. "What I Want" is a straight up reggae jam, while "Sound Of Freedom" has hot remixes by Kurd Maverick & Kelly G. Both songs are great and will definitely get your feet stomping.

There are only two mixes of "What I Want" offered here on the CD single, the Original Club Mix and the Street Mix. Both mixes have the same reggae beat and toasting vocals. It sounds like a party is going on with the cheers and yells going on in the background and the rhythm surrounds everything like a blanket. The difference in the two mixes is that the Street Mix is a bit more subdued, with more focus on the vocals while the Club Mix is loud and frantic and the drums and beats are the highlight. Both mixes will get your floor shaking and get the boys and girls feeling sexy. The second track here is "Sound Of Freedom," a song that has already been a hit on the radio and in the clubs. Once again, it's all about the Jamaican rhythm. This track has more of a house feel to it, thanks in part to the resung sample of the classic Rozalla track "Everybody's Free." The Original Edit is a swinging summertime reggae jam, loaded up with lots of guitar and drums. Kurd Maverick uses his remix to turn the song into a hands-in–the-air stomper. The reggaeton is gone and the guitars are put out in front on top of a classic house beat. Synthesizers are added to give the song more punch and there is actually a drop out that rebuilds nicely into the rhythm track. Kelly G. slows the groove a bit with his Chicago House mix. This mix is much smoother and laid back than any of the other mixes.

Percussion and keyboards are introduced while the hard synth lines and tribal drums are removed. Though not a mix to play during peak hours, it's a great alternative for those DJs who like to branch out a bit from the norm.

Bob Sinclar continues his hot streak with both "What I Want" and "Sound Of Freedom." Both songs are in the signature style that he has perfected in recent months and are guaranteed to get anybody to dance. Both tracks are taken from his current CD "Sounds Of Freedom (My Ultimate Summer of Love Mix)" which also features mixes of some of his earlier songs. Pick up either this single or the full CD and catch up on what you've been missing all summer long.
