Summary
While I find it fun and novel that the liner notes in the album smell like “cotton candy,” I wonder why Perry felt the need to include that. Internet sales are where labels are hedging their bets these days, so incentive to buy a physical disc seems immaterial. I'll admit, though, that it would be enough incentive for me. I already prefer buying a physical disc over a digital copy. However, that isn't a true summary of the album, just a small rant. The album itself is definitely a lot of fun. There is no question about that. The question I have about Teenage Dream is whether it lives up to its successor. And I have to say, while falling short by maybe an iota or two, it does not. Only a handful of tracks are truly memorable, and most of them when Katy pushes beyond the boundaries she has set for herself.
