The first time I heard about this song was from DJ Ron as he reported this as one of the top song to come out of the Winter Music Conference. He was dead on balls accurate with this song. "Lola's Theme" is an addictive track that couldn’t have come at a better time of the year than summer. It’s one of the ultimate tunes that keeps getting better and better with each spin. It's disco house at it's best with the horns hitting hard and the background strings makes for the an amazing hook. The Mixes and Remixes on this single are delicious and will make your mouth water for more. Lets start with the Main Mix which uses the "I'm a different person...turned my world around" hook. The Alternative Mix kicks up the energy a bit and uses a little less of the same hook. The Main Vocal Mix features UK Vocalist Cookie. Eric Prydz is a lot darker and progressive, but also more on the electro style tip. The Victor Calderone Mix and Dub take on a more tribal feel to it which is signature Calderone, but on the downside it looks any form of the disco house original. While recently hitting number one on the UK Charts I expect this single to stay hot consistenly in the coming months and will be one of the top house songs of the year.
I wouldn't be surprised if this one a few awards and next years Dancestar and Winter Music Conference Awards.
